Purpose of Position
Work with the Dean, the COI Leadership Team, the COI Director of Innovation and Emerging Technologies, and NKU Marketing and Communications to develop, implement, and refine COI communications strategy, branding, and messaging. Review, assess, and continuously improve COI communication efforts Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with campus and COI staff (in particular, the COI Assistant Director of Recruitment and Retention), external marketing partners and academic leadership to develop, curate and vet digital, video and print materials for campaigns targeted to prospective and current students.
  • Work with the Dean of the College of Informatics and the COI Director of Development to produce materials for prospective and current donors, both individual and corporate. Assist the Director of Development with communication strategies around donor cultivation and stewardship.
  • Assist in the planning and management of key COI sponsored events such as donor and corporate events and professional symposia. Coordinate the production and distribution of marketing and promotional materials for community engagement events and programming.
  • Manage and assist in internal and external communication. Write, design, edit and maintain content for all COI -related marketing publications, reports, newsletters, news releases, event promotion, websites, social media and digital signage.
  • Serve as a liaison to NKU’s communications staff in responding to requests from the press, arrange for interviews in conjunction with emerging stories, advise faculty and staff interviewed by the media, and suggest story ideas. Maintain relationships with the media and keep abreast of stories that relevant the college.
  • Manage student workers who will assist with COI communications.
  • Serve as part of the Informatics+ outreach center core leadership team. Participate in weekly team meetings on tactics and strategy for the center.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 5 years related experience.
  • Candidate must be experienced and comfortable with technology including social media tools, a content management system (ex. AEM ), and the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software tools as needed.
  • The candidate must exhibit excellent project management, writing, editing and oral communication skills, and have a sense of aesthetics in graphical design. The candidate must be comfortable working in diverse teams and be independent and pro-active, but with a strong customer service focus.
  • Should have a strategic mindset, executive presence, and grace under pressure.
  • Professionalism and exceptional client service is fully expected.
  • Ability to articulate and communicate effective high-level communications strategy is required.
