Job Description Summary
The Barnard College, Columbia University Programs in Education and Urban Studies invite applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor in the field of urban education beginning in the fall of 2023. Areas of specialization within U.S. urban education (also including a comparative perspective) are open, and preference will be for scholars whose research addresses questions of justice and equity, including in one or more of the following: educational policy and practice; social contexts of urban education; comparative urban education; and the history of urban education. Candidates with experience in P-12 education are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a PhD in Education. Candidates should have a promising research agenda and record of scholarship, and a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching. Teaching will include courses in both programs.
