Administrative Assistant

Job Summary:
Provides administrative and clerical support and assist in the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Department, including assisting students, faculty, and others, in person, by phone, and via email. Reports to the Nursing Outreach Specialist & Office Manager. The Administrative Assistant collaborates with 12 full-time faculty and staff and 20 PT clinical instructors at the Columbia locations.

The College offers 14-month Associate of Science in Nursing and 3-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs of study, preparing nearly 100 graduates a year to sit for the RN licensure exam. The Department also delivers an online RN-BSN degree and a certificate program in Certified Medical Assisting.

Job Duties:
  • Front line support for the Nursing Program and faculty
  • Assist with application processes for ASN, BSN, and CMA programs
  • Maintain faculty, staff, and student records
  • Facilitate standardized testing administration
  • Order office supplies and process purchasing requests
  • Collaborate with Administrative support staff for Nursing at the College’s Lake Ozark location.
  • Support department special events such as Visit Days, Nursing Camp, Orientations, Honor Society Events, Pinning etc.
  • Document and distribute minutes for Departmental, Advisory Committee and other meetings as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality following FERPA and HIPPA guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent along with some college credit hours required.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to learn Colleague and additional software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of general office experience.
