This position is part-time up to 10-25 hours per week.

College/Department Overview:

The Athletic Department at the University of Central Oklahoma currently supports over 400 student-athletes in 15 sports including Football, Men's & Women's Basketball, Men's & Women's Golf, Baseball, Softball, Wrestling, Women's Track & Field and Cross Country, Women's Tennis, Women's Soccer, Women's Rowing, and Women's Volleyball.

Position Overview:

The University of Central Oklahoma Department of Athletics seeks applicants for a part-time Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach reporting to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. In this position, the candidate will assist the Strength and Conditioning staff in the overall coordination, direction, and operation of an NCAA strength and conditioning program for men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletic teams.

Job Details:

The position will work collaboratively with the Athletics Department and the Nutrition program. The candidate will help monitor workouts in the weight room at the direction of the Head Strength Coach. Candidate will also help set up/tear down drills and exercise equipment, help maintain equipment, collect and sort workout data, and participate/observe in strength and conditioning meetings. Candidates will need to be comfortable working in a training environment that may be viewed as intimidating.

Qualifications

Experience:

Must have completed a bachelor’s degree in an Exercise Science-related field at an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must be knowledgeable in the Olympic and power lifts and have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Must have a strong work ethic with a high degree of enthusiasm and punctuality. Previous work in a collegiate setting, college athletic experience, and one of the following certifications; CSCS or SCCCa. Computer proficiency preferably in Microsoft Office.
