The English Department at Georgian Court University is seeking
adjunct instructors at the Lakewood campus for the Fall 2022
Writing Program. Instructors may be asked to teach the following
EN105 and EN106 Essentials of Academic Writing I and II, basic
writing courses, some with integrated ELL and/or
EN111 Academic Writing and Research I, the first-year composition
EN221 Honors Argument: Rhetoric and Research, the first-year
composition requirement for the University Honors Program.
These courses run Tuesdays and Thursdays, 75-minute periods each
day, in sections starting 8AM through 2PM. Classes begin Monday
August 22. All courses meet in-person.
Teach one or more writing courses per semester (3 credits
Provide reasonable office hours for students.
Assess learning outcomes and suggest curricular improvements in
formal and informal reports.
Participate in Writing Program faculty meetings and
professional development activities.
Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity,
justice and service in all aspects of interaction.
Advanced degree in English or Rhetoric/Composition
Evidence of teaching excellence in college-level composition
Strong course evaluations and/or strong recommendations from
Willingness to follow the department's writing course syllabi
and assessment protocol
Experience with course management systems, such as
Willingness to complete Blackboard training program before
