Major/Essential Functions
The Assistant Vice President of People and Values leads the Office of People and Values (OPV) team which implements and creates all aspects of our values-based culture and learning development programs in alignment with TTUHSC’s strategic objectives. In collaboration with the Associate Vice Chancellor, People and Development and the Associate Vice President of Human Resources, this role is responsible for the creation of sustainable organizational development strategies that will operationalize our values-based culture.
This position is a direct report to the Executive Vice President for Finance and Operation (EVP) and must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, computer software skills, problem solving skills and the ability to analyze and organize information to present to the EVP and other institutional leadership.

Functions of the position include:
- Builds relationships and collaborates across different areas to
plan, prioritize, and lead training efforts that meet departmental
and Institutional needs.
- Conducts regular assessments and reviews data to develop short-
and long-term strategies and makes recommendations to executive
leadership.
- Assess the effectiveness and business impact of the implemented
programs and courses through, provides periodical reports, refines,
and makes recommendations.
- Develops leadership programs and training content in response
to institutional needs that aligns with TTUHSC values.
- Oversees large-scale projects and initiatives to promote
organizational culture, values, and employee development, including
the annual participation in Great Colleges to Work For.
- Partners with school and department leadership in developing,
coordinating, and delivering on-going professional development,
skills, and values-training.
- Develops and fosters relationships with institutional
leadership.
- Responsible for Office of People and Values budget.
- Mentors staff in a positive manner to maximize skills,
knowledge, and abilities.
- Serves as a member on TTUHSC’s People and Operations Council,
or other task forces as assigned.
- Provides leadership for the strategic planning process to
ensure alignment with the mission, vision, and other priorities of
the institution.
- Works collaboratively with the AVP, Human Resources on
initiatives, strategic objectives, or other programs to meet
identified needs. Communicates identified areas of improvement or
progress to ensure partnership in approaches.
- Develop and/or advise others who develop curricula, course
outlines, instructional methods, training aids, manuals, and other
instructional materials and products.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Industrial Psychology, or closely related field.
- Seven (7) years experience in leading training, cultural development and leadership across all team member levels.
- Prior professional experience with curriculum or training design for programs used to drive a culture of values, increased leadership competencies or other widespread programs to support cultural change.
- Self-starter who takes initiative to identify and resolve problems.
- Effective verbal and written skills to communicate with all levels of the institution.
