GENERAL SUMMARY
The full-time Affiliated Faculty member at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS) provides engaging learning opportunities for students in the health science professions. This position is considered non-core and does not require service or scholarship responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties may include assignments in one or more of the following academic instruction areas. These assignments may be modified and adjusted on a term-by-term basis as required by the immediate supervisor.
Clinical Education Program Support: provides clinical supervision for students on fieldwork or clinical experience
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Academic Program Director

Reports to:Academic Program Director/Assistant Academic Program Director, Academic Fieldwork Coordinator/Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education/Director, SLP Clinical Education
Positions Supervised:Lab Assistants when assigned to courses

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Faculty Members must be appropriately credentialed, possess an earned degree from an accredited institution or recognized by a country's ministry of education in the discipline being taught, and be licensed or license-eligible if providing clinical care.
TRAVEL
Some travel may be requested, if determined necessary by the department.

Clinical Education Program Support: provides clinical supervision for students on fieldwork or clinical experience
- Works under the guidance of core clinical or academic faculty
to identify and secure clinical placements
- Coordinates and provides clinical supervision for students on
fieldwork or clinical experiences to ensure appropriate learning
outcomes in a clinical setting
- Directs student clinicians in all domains of professional
clinical practice; appropriately assesses student learning and
performance
- Appropriately communicates to faculty and program directors on
student and curriculum information
- Optimizes class/clinical/lab/online environment that is
conducive to student learning by supporting creative, challenging
and evidence-based learning opportunities
- Uses learning assessment information to improve teaching;
participates in quality improvement initiatives to meet program and
institutional goals
- Provides current, organized, error free instructional
materials
- Maintains all components of the learning environment including
online course portal management
- Leads or assists lead instructor with lecture and lab content
including grading, student management, and class management
- Supports clinical learning by educating students at clinical
affiliation settings and/or University pro-bono clinics
- Works collaboratively with members of the team
- Advises students on academic, professional and/or personal
issues while providing referrals when appropriate
- Provides other administrative duties as assigned
- Completes annual self-evaluation of faculty performance and
sets goals for the next year in collaboration with the Program
Director; is actively engaged in faculty development opportunities
to meet performance goals
- Promotes professionalism by modeling and encouraging such
behaviors inside and outside the classroom setting

- Prior teaching experience at the college/university
preferred.
- Experience with distance learning preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in the area of
course content required.
