The Opportunity:

The Human Resources (HR) Team is looking to hire an experienced HR Manager to support the leadership initiatives of the Human Resources Department and the Executive Director of Employment & Engagement by assisting with a variety of HR related duties across the Prescott campus with special focus and attention on providing excellent support to the campus leadership; Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Deans and Directors. HR duties will consist of employee engagement, retention, succession planning, performance management and employee relations. Assist with immigration needs of campus Faculty.

Responsibilities include the following:

Employment & Engagement - Manage employee relations for the Prescott campus to include - performance management, position descriptions, job changes and promotions, performance improvement plans, developmental opportunities, coordinate and deliver training, coaching, disciplinary actions, retention strategy, exit interviews and terminations. Ensuring that University’s procedures comply with Prescott employment regulations. Proactively focus on continuous improvement for departmental and university processes. Actively participate in departmental initiatives with hand-on activities, meeting attendance, research, etc. Participate in campus leadership activities and committees in strategic support of the campus leadership to include the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Deans, etc.

Benefit Support - Provide benefits support in areas such as FMLA, STD, LTD, sabbaticals, parental leave, disability accommodations, and ergonomics assessment. Provide basic support in all core benefits; personal leave, sick leave, medical/dental, HSA/FSA/HRA, 403b, 457b, life insurance, etc.

Provide daily guidance and oversight to the Prescott student employment office; assist with strategic direction, growth, and proactivity within the function.

Manage Prescott HR staff (1 full time and several student workers); approve leave, schedule tasks/projects, handle performance management in consultation with Executive Director; assist with professional development and growth; deliver corrective/constructive feedback when necessary.

Support recruitment and immigration initiatives for the Prescott campus. Work closely with HR Partner and university immigration coordinator to ensure appropriate staffing levels, compliance, to track expiration and length of service requirements, and handle day-to-day inquiries from Prescott employees.

Qualifications

Required experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities:

Bachelor's degree and leadership experience within Human Resources is required.

Excellent written and verbal communication required. Labor and employee relations experience required. Contract negotiations preferred. Knowledge of immigration law as it pertains to USCIS visa procedures required. Recruiting experience required. Must have the capacity to interact with all levels of personnel on a daily basis. Must be able to work autonomously. Analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Programs, to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet/Intranet. Workday (HRIS) experience a plus!
