Job Details

The Test Center Associate provides coverage during Test Center hours of operation, maintains Test Center routine such as protecting testing integrity and providing customer service to students, faculty, test vendors, high school students, campus and external community; and performs department’s administrative support and front desk tasks. Duties include providing daily preparation of testing activities, both computer-based and paper-pencil testing and in-person, virtual or remote testing; administering and proctoring exams; maintaining proctoring credentials and test certification; and carrying out Test Center tasks such as addressing inquiries, maintaining files and records, troubleshooting testing concerns and technology issues; and processing Test Center data/records.

Other duties include assisting in the unit assessment activities of the Test Center; assisting in enrollment outreach activities; serving on College committees, and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

This is a non-exempt staff position.

The Testing Assistant may not be a student at any institution that offers ACCUPLACER tests, including Harford Community College, as it creates a conflict of interest and prevents completion of some job duties.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

An associate degree or equivalent certification, experience, or education and one to three years of related experience, including customer service, database data entry and retrieval, and administrative support are required.

Other requirements include advanced MS Office applications skills, database skills, the ability to learn new technologies, excellent communication skills, the ability to work with diverse populations, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.  Experience with specialized testing and assessment software systems is preferred.
