Assistant Research Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant Project Manager) in the Centre for Civil Society and Governance (CCSG) (Ref.: 515883) to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Social Sciences or related discipline with at least 5 years of work and/or research experience in Corporate Sustainability, Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Assessment, Social Return on Investment (SROI), Sustainable Value Chain, Climate Risk, or Sustainable Finance. Applicants should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and excellent communication skills. They should be able to work independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Preference will be given to those who are professionals with Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting related accreditations. These may include, but not limited to, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Professional Certification, GARP Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) Certificate, European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS). Experience in ESG reporting and provision of executive training on sustainability-related topics would be an advantage.

The appointee will work for the project “Partnership for Sustainability Leadership in Business” (PSLB) in CCSG. He/She will be responsible for developing and managing action research projects; preparing project proposals; organizing community and business outreach activities; forming partnerships with various business stakeholders, including corporates, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), business associations and investors; drafting impact evaluation reports; developing and delivering professional training programmes and performing other research- or teaching-related duties as assigned by the Director of the Centre.
