The Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Social Sciences is re-launching its Master’s program in clinical psychology starting from the 2024-2025 academic year. Registered with the Health Bureau of the Macau SAR, this Master’s program proffers the terminal degree for clinical psychologists to practice in Macau. In this connection, the department is hiring up to three professorial positions in clinical psychology at the Associate and Assistant Professor rank. The Department of Psychology is one of the most research active departments in UM. It is ranked 8th in Asia and 97th in the world by Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2020. Qualifications

 

Applicants must have a PhD degree in clinical psychology or closely related disciplines. Candidates’ research focus can be in any area including clinical psychology. Successful candidates must demonstrate active and productive research and publications. Experience in teaching psychotherapy and assessment courses of a clinical program is preferred. Clinical licensing or registration and Chinese language proficiency are preferred but are not required.

 

 

 

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2023 and no later than August 2024.

 

 

 

Remuneration

 

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP828,100 (approximately USD102,230) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
