Director of International Admissions

Western New England University (WNE) is seeking a dynamic and experienced student-centered professional who is excited to lead the strategic international recruitment efforts of all of the University’s international undergraduate and graduate students. 

If you have a proven track record of working within the International Admission profession, strategical thinker and work collaboratively within the policies and practices outlined by the U.S. Department of State’s Student and Exchange Visitor Program, then this may be the ideal position for you.  WNE is set in the heart of New England and is the ideal place to learn, grow, and continue to do meaningful and fulfilling work in the international education field.

The Director of International Admissions is responsible for the marketing, recruitment and admissions practices and policies as they relate to both undergraduate and graduate admissions as well as the initial issuance of I-20s and DS-2019s. The Director will serve as the manager of our agent partner network, an important part of our strategic initiatives. Additionally, WNE recently signed a strategic partnership with Shorelight Education, which will provide the person in this role the opportunity to help launch all aspects of this exciting new endeavor, ensuring both recruitment and retention success. The Director will have supervision over the Assistant Director of International Admissions, a group of student workers and will collaborate with and contribute to efforts undertaken by the undergraduate and graduate admissions teams.

WNE is seeking a person who is detail-oriented, open-minded, compassionate, and honest in all matters of the role. The Director of International Admissions will have a commitment to supporting the fair and equitable treatment of all students and employees and will assist in the development of strategies that promote the University as an equitable and inclusive environment for all prospective students, families, current students and other faculty and staff.

Qualifications:

The position requires some experience recruiting international undergraduate and graduate students as well as a willingness and ability to travel internationally.

Education: A Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience is required.
Licenses: Valid driver’s license is required.

Other: The position requires extensive interaction with various members of the public either in person or on the telephone. Appropriate professional demeanor, appearance, and conduct are essential.
