The undergraduate Biomedical Sciences Program (BMD) in the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences (CDS) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Health Professions is seeking to fill a tenure-track faculty position. This is a 12-month, full-time appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor.

 

The successful candidate will provide instruction in the biomedical sciences to undergraduate students in the BMD major in the areas of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, cell biology, genetics, microbiology and/or immunology, in addition to participating in the BMD capstone course. They will also develop scholarly activities in the area of biomedical sciences, as well as participate in service to the program, department and school. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record of delivering quality instruction in anatomy, physiology or pharmacology, and is highly motivated to work in a collaborative environment building signature instructional activities for more than 700 pre-professional undergraduates (uab.edu/bmd).

 

Candidates for consideration will have a Ph.D., or other terminal degrees, in a subject area related to biomedical sciences. Particular consideration will be given to candidates with a teaching portfolio and experience that aligns with the vision and mission of the program, department and school.
