Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. This is a part-time, non-unit position with no benefits.

This position is responsible for coaching, supervising and developing an intercollegiate varsity team, including in-season and off-season programming, in accordance with institutional and departmental objectives within the rules and regulations of the athletic governing bodies.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Plan, strategize and oversee all practices and scheduled contests to provide a positive and competitive experience for student athletes;
  • Develop a recruitment plan to identify and enroll student athletes that will create and sustain a successful, competitive athletic program;
  • Establish team rules and protocols and implement appropriately;
  • Foster the personal development and competitive spirit of the student athletes while supporting their educational experience;
  • Emphasize and promote academic progress, resulting in strong academic performance, retention and graduation rates;
  • Provide team supervision at all off campus competitions. Interpret and implement the rules and regulations of the team, the department, and the college;
  • Represent the college and team at all appropriate athletic events (e.g. competitions, conferences, and college sanctioned programs such as open houses);
  • Assist with game day set-up and breakdown;
  • Compile game statistics and assist with entries into presto stats system;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • Experience as a runner or trainer.

  • Recruiting experience.

Salary Range: $6,000 per season
