The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment in the Center for Functional Anatomy and Evolution (FAE) at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, with a focus on anatomy education and pedagogical research. The successful candidate will serve as Director for the Master of Science in Anatomy Education Program. Administrative experience in this regard is preferred, but not required. It is expected that the successful candidate will continue to develop the program and leverage the considerable JHU/JHH resources related to diverse educational innovation.

FAE faculty are responsible for teaching human anatomy to first year medical students, including a full dissection laboratory, as well as several graduate and undergraduate courses in anatomy and organismal biology. Research interests of the FAE faculty are diverse, including early vertebrate and primate evolution, mammalian craniodental and postcranial functional morphology, quantitative analysis of biological shape, animal models, biomechanics, development, and evolutionary theory. The Center administers a Ph.D. program in functional anatomy and evolution, as well as the Master’s program in anatomy education. Qualifications

Required

  • PhD in Anatomy, Biology, Vertebrate Evolutionary Morphology, Biological Anthropology, or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with colleagues and work collaboratively.

Preferred

  • Administrative or program development experience.
  • Anatomy teaching experience in a medical school setting.
  • Eagerness to learn and teach new technologies related to the field.
