Provides innovative leadership, contract management and compliance, and strategic oversight of System-wide contracts for Food Service, Vending, and Pouring Rights. Responsible for the operational implementation and direction of the day-to-day activities and management of the food service, vending, and pouring rights programs within the University including UH Sugar Land and UH Katy.

  1. Oversees day-to-day System-wide Food Service, Vending, and Pouring Rights contracts.
  2. Develops, implements, and monitors contract compliance by using many contract management tools to hold contracted partners accountable for the terms in the agreements, including supporting Component Campuses on contract management and interpretation.
  3. Leads and develops specifications for formal solicitations.
  4. Supports the Executive Director in implementing the departments strategic plan and achieving identified goals and objectives.
  5. Keeps apprised of technological advancements to strengthen the effectiveness of integrated services and works towards progressive innovations which will enhance programs, services, and customer service and satisfaction.
  6. Manages program facilities, equipment and work orders; ensures facilities and equipment are properly maintained in a timely manner.
  7. Identifies, prioritizes, and executes facility improvements, national brand upgrades/refreshes, and equipment in support of program operations, in partnership with contracted food service provider and Facilities and Construction Management.
  8. Directs and leads the meal plans enrollment process, meal plan petition process, and refund processes.
  9. In collaboration with the Executive Director, develops and prepares annual budgets, to include review of fees and service level agreements. Works with the Business Office to reconcile commissions.
  10. In partnership with Auxiliary Services communication/outreach manager and contracted partners, markets programs to the campus community and designs and implements customer engagement outreach activities.
  11. Responsible for continued process efficiency improvement and management including developing/revising policies and procedures, establishing comprehensive workflows, and developing industry supported best practices/KPIs.
  12. Ensures safety, sanitation, food quality, and nutrition standards are met both by contractual and legal standards. Works with the University’s health inspectors and contracted partners to address deficiencies identified in inspections.
  13. Oversees the administration of the food service advisory committee comprised of key representation across campus stakeholders. Represents the department and programs at meetings, serves on and leads committees, and actively participates in professional associations. Regularly attends/presents at relevant seminars and conferences, and actively participates in industry peer networking in order to keep abreast of current trends and new information regarding assigned program areas.
  14. Exercises a high level of integrity in all interactions and transactions.
  15. Completes special projects as assigned or required.
  16. Performs other job-related duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications :

Bachelors and 5 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience, three (3) of which must be in a managerial capacity.
