  • This is a full-time 12-month position responsible for ensuring compliance with various athletic membership and satisfactory promotion of the University, CACC, ECC, and NCAA through various methods, including: print, web, and social media outlets. Also responsible for both internal and external operations to provide excellent game day & student-athlete experience and maximize external exposure of the institution & athletic program Reports to the Director of Athletics.

  • Serve as the primary athletics contact for members of the media, the NCAA, alumni, and members of the public who have an interest in Georgian Court University Athletics
  • Research and explore new methods by which to promote the athletic programs of GCU
  • Oversee development and production of athletics programs, brochures, publications, and graphic/video production
  • Oversee the collection, maintenance, and filing of all statistical data for the various sports in the intercollegiate athletics program (experience with Presto Stats preferred)
  • Compile and update all University athletic records for coaches, teams, and individual athletes
  • Supervise game day operations for all home games
  • Assist in event/game set up
  • Oversee and enforce graphic standards within the Department of Athletics
  • Hire, supervise and assist student workers and interns during game day operations
  • Report to appropriate news media the results of all GCU intercollegiate athletic events
  • Meet all sports information expectations of the NCAA and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference
  • Serve as liaison to Georgian Court departments, including: marketing, advancement, and alumni relations
  • Serve as a member of the Georgian Court University Athletic Hall of Fame Committee, Golf Outing Committee, and End-of-Year Banquet Committee
  • Maintain a working relationship with the Athletic Director, coaches of intercollegiate athletic teams, student-athletes, and GCU administration
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the content of the University athletic web pages ( for all varsity teams
  • Prepare all (academic and athletic) award forms for CoSIDA, CACC, ECC, various coaching organizations, etc. and manage all departmental awards
  • Represent the University and its athletics program by adhering to the Mercy core values of Justice, Compassion, Integrity, Respect, and Service
  • Develop a positive, professional relationship with faculty, staff, students, alumni
  • Work with various departments and personnel at the college to aid in the development of a positive student-athlete experience.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
  • 2-4 years comparable experience
  • Experience working in a collegiate athletic department
  • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail
  • Excellent writing, editing and personal relations skills required, knowledge of AP style guidelines
  • Background in journalism, marketing, sports information, athletic administration and electronic and print medirelations preferred
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, website design & maintenance, desktop publishing (Adobe In-Design Illustrator, Photoshop) and sports statistics software (Presto Stats)
  • Familiarity and ability to utilize social media networks, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Nights and most weekends required
