Online Education Coordinator



Summary:

The Online Education Coordinator is responsible for developing and leading online education at Flagler College, ensuring the delivery of high quality and innovative online education for traditional and non-traditional courses and programs. The Coordinator will develop relationships, communicate, and collaborate with offices across the St. Augustine and Tallahassee campuses, including academic program directors, Disability Resource Center, Data Services, Institutional Technology Services, and the Center for Teaching and Learning. The Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for the Colleges Learning Management System (LMS), evaluate and recommend technological enhancements and best practices for online courses and programs, provide training resources for faculty, and maintain an optimal online learning experience by leveraging in-house expertise in instructional design, online pedagogy, accessibility, and compliance with SACSCOC accrediting standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manages the faculty online and hybrid course/program certification and quality assurance review process for all campuses and program levels.
  • Ensures compliance with SACSCOC standards for online education.
  • Acts as primary administrator for the LMS and manages all LTI application integration and global announcements.
  • Works closely with the Deans/Dept. Chairs and Registrar regarding online and hybrid course scheduling (verifying faculty certification to teach online/hybrid courses, synchronous sessions have scheduled times, etc.)
  • Working with the Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) Specialists provides assistance and training resources to all faculty for online course development and implementation.
  • Working with the IDT Specialists sets best practice standards for course design and implementation.
  • Serves on the Curriculum Committee, Computer and Technology Committee, Module Managers Committee, and other committees as assigned.
  • Stays apprised of new advancements, research, and technology in online education and shares this information with the College as appropriate.
  • Researches and advises the College in ways to meet the qualifications and maintain compliance with all state and federal laws concerning online education and accessibility.
  • Chooses college-wide Canvas integrations and supporting software
  • Consults with the Disability Resource Center regarding accessibility solutions within the LMS.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Masters degree in a related field (Education, Instructional Design/Technology, Visual Media, English, Communication, Curriculum/Instruction, etc.) and/or equivalent professional experience
  • Admin experience with an enterprise level Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Demonstrated data collection and management skills for reporting
  • Experience developing online courses and programs that are ADA and 508 compliant
  • Excellent computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
  • Experience in applying Qualtrics Matters rubrics
  • Superior communication skills, including translating technical information for a non-technical audience
  • Comfortable with public speaking and demonstrations
  • Intermediate HTML and graphic design skills
