The Theatre Department in the Fine Arts Division of Pepperdine University’s Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, located in Malibu, California, invites applications for a full-time visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre to begin August 1, 2023. Applicants should have a terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in acting, directing, or another closely related discipline. A minimum of three years of professional experience and teaching experience in acting and/or directing for the stage is preferred. We encourage applications from diverse candidates with a passion for teaching and mentoring our diverse student body.

The successful candidate will have the skills needed to teach a broad range of introductory and advanced acting and directing courses, including Acting 1 for majors and/or non-majors (general education), Directing for the Stage, Acting for the Camera, Introduction to Theatre Research, and a Career Skills/Audition Techniques lab. This position may include reassigned time to direct a mainstage production as part of the Pepperdine Theatre season and opportunities to participate in recruiting both locally and nationally.
