Job Summary

Florida Gulf Coast University is searching for an Assistant / Associate Professor with teaching and research experience in general management. All disciplines in management will be considered. Evidence of successful teaching and research is highly desirable.

The Department of Management houses the largest undergraduate major in the Lutgert College of Business at FGCU, with specialized concentrations in Leadership, Sports Management, Human Resource Management, and International Business. The department also contributes to the MBA program.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited:
  • Teaching responsibilities include three courses per semester; Willingness to teach any courses, including online, graduate, and undergraduate classes, as assigned. The department makes an effort to assign courses based on individual expertise, but faculty may be asked to teach courses in other management areas when needed.
  • Conduct research/scholarship commiserate with rank that leads to quality refereed journal publications.
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and professional organizations.
Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

Doctorate in Business Management or related field from an AACSB-I accredited university program or equivalent accreditation. ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by August 7, 2023. If successful candidate is ABD, appointment will be made at a Lecturer level on a fixed contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate in Business Management or related field from an AACSB-I accredited university program along with evidence of prior research, teaching and related work experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrate excellence in teaching. Value continued scholarship and service to the school and university. Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning & university teaching. Interest in collaborating in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Willingness to participate in community outreach and engagement.

Appointment will be made at a faculty rank commensurate with the candidate’s experience on a 9-month multi-year appointment basis available Fall 2023.
