The Intelligent Systems Security (ISSec) Lab in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Dayton is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to help develop new software security hands-on labs. This position is expected to start in August 2022. The postdoctoral research associate’s principal area of responsibility is to work on the design and implementation of new Load-and-Play Interactive Software Security Labs for the Ohio Cyber Range environment funded by Ohio Third Frontier/Ohio Department of Higher Education. The project, in collaboration with Wright State University and Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE), is to design, implement, deliver, and deploy a series of interactive cybersecurity labs for wide-range students that provide essential hands-on experience for cybersecurity education and workforce readiness. The postdoctoral research associate will work closely with Dr. Phu Phung towards the development of the project, focusing on aspects of software security vulnerabilities. The postdoctoral research associate is also expected to interact with collaborators in the Department of Computer Science, the Center of Cyber Security and Data Intelligence at the University of Dayton, and with sponsors and peers at Wright State University and SOCHE. Responsibilities also include participation in the dissemination of knowledge to train others in the ISSec Lab in the area of future workforce needs, writing reports, publishing work in the public domain, and developing new research proposals.  Minimum Qualifications: (a) Doctoral degree in Computer Science or Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) fields (completion of degree requirements expected at hire); (b) Strong background and knowledge in software security, vulnerabilities, and attacks; (c) Experience working in virtual machines and cloud environments, including but not limited to VirtualBox, Google Cloud Shell, and Collab, Heroku; (d) Demonstrable publishing record; (e) Fluent English writing and communication skills Preferred Qualifications: While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

(f) Experience with the MITRE Att&ck framework, SEED labs, Labtainers;
(g) Experience in building and teaching software security labs, including reverse engineering, information security, software security, and IoT & Mobile security;
