Job Description

The University of Missouri System seeks an experienced executive recruiter to provide exceptional recruitment services to support the University of Missouri System and its four distinct and mission-oriented institutions in achieving their operational and strategic objectives. The Executive Recruitment Consultant will develop and lead high-impact recruitment programs targeting strategic and key hires in close partnership with senior administration, faculty, as well as colleagues within HR and other service departments throughout each university.

The primary focus for this executive recruiter will be on making positive recruitment impacts for the UM System’s two urban-serving institutions, the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) and University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). We seek a passionate and inclusive thought-leading recruiter who is energized by the opportunity to positively impact lives in Missouri’s urban communities.

The Executive Recruitment Consultant will be asked to:
  • Develop and implement executive search strategies and lead hiring activities for senior administrative positions as well as other key positions at assigned UM System campuses
  • Collaborate closely with senior administrators and HR leadership to align with the institution’s current recruitment strategy and identify executive talent gaps
  • Drive passive and active recruiting to attract and hire national talent, ensuring leadership diversity
  • Partner with senior administrators, faculty, and staff to manage all aspects of executive searches and ensure a ‘concierge-level’ experience for candidates and key internal stakeholders
  • Guide prospects and candidates through the institution’s hiring process, including assessments, interviews, testing, reference checking and vetting, offer management, negotiations, as well as spousal and partner recruitment efforts
  • Proactively source, build, and nurture pipelines of diverse talent
  • Provide high level expertise and advice to internal constituents on routine and complex recruitment issues to remain compliant with regulations and policies
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of recruiting activities to support institutional efforts.
The Executive Recruitment Consultant should be able to:

  • Understand complex concepts quickly and communicate those efficiently
  • Take initiative with minimal direction and complete complex recruitments with near complete autonomy
  • Exhibit a resilient personality paired with a high level of professionalism and integrity

Salary

$70,000 – $85,000 commensurate to relevant experience and education

Grade: GGS 12

University Title: HUMAN RESOURCES CONSULTANT LEAD

Minimum Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven success delivering innovating sourcing and recruiting strategies for national leadership searches, preferably for complex organizations
  • Experience in multi project management, particularly in healthcare or higher education
  • Previous experience negotiating competitive compensation and benefits packages
The role will report directly to the UM System Senior Director of Recruitment and work closely with senior leadership at UMKC and UMSL, respectively, as well as others across the UM System. Applicants interested in remote/telework or hybrid work environments (with some onsite work in St. Louis, Kansas City, or Columbia, Missouri) will be considered. Intermittent onsite presence in St. Louis or Kansas City could be expected to fulfill a portion of the role’s responsibilities.
