Community College of Philadelphia is seeking to fill a Education Coordinator, TRIO Upward Bound position. The Education Coordinator for the TRIO Upward Bound program is responsible for coordinating eligible participant recruitment, monitoring and tracking; managing of participants' academic progress through secondary and post-secondary education; planning and facilitation of cultural/social, academic, and career development activities for the grant funded TRIO Upward Bound Program. TRIO Upward Bound serves a predetermined maximum number of eligible 9th-12th graders, from selected target high schools, annually.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Any and all degrees must be from a recognized institutional accreditor.
  • Two (2) years work experience in effective program planning and implementation for high school students.
  • One (1) year of experience with college level financial aid application processes required.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines required.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within internal and external constituents required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends required.
  • Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds required.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Social Work, School Counseling, Psychology, Public Administration or related field preferred.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Previous work experience in a college preparation program for potential first-generation college students from low-income households preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle preferred.
