  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or other technology-related fields, or combined experience equivalent.
  • HigherEd experience.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

N/A Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The IT Manager of Identity and Access Management is a full-time position in Information Technology Services at Appalachian State University.   • The primary purpose of this position is to develop and maintain the University's Identity and Access Management Systems ( IDM ). This includes functionality to manage provisioning and access for targets such as Banner, Google, Active Directory, LDAP, and Databases. Initial duties include, but not be limited to, IAM solution RFP, selection, and implementation.
  • This position is also required to keep abreast of identity security & password management industry standards, strategic directions, and best practices to incorporate into ASU architecture.
  • This position is an expert in functional business process understanding and advanced technical solutions and uses this expertise to implement advanced and highly complex software solutions with minimal supervision.
  • As a management team member, this position also provides senior-level functional guidance and support to the team and provides daily technical decision-making with broad and often institution-wide impacts that affect other systems, students, faculty, and staff.
  • Support documentation of key operational functions and processes.
  • Contribute to developing and refining security and privacy policies, procedures, controls, and reporting with special emphasis on organizational access control standards.
  • Works with infrastructure and application teams to identify new ways to apply IAM solution(s) to increase security and accountability and reduce process overhead.
  • Strong leadership, project, and team-building skills, including the ability to lead teams and drive IAM and associated initiatives across multiple departments on campus.
Suggested Salary Range $95,000 - $118,000 Physical Demands of Position
