The Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology (BCMP) at Harvard Medical School invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We are seeking an outstanding, creative scientist working within the broad arena of chemical biology to join our Department.

The Department of BCMP and Harvard Medical School provide exceptional scientific and scholarly resources, as well as a family-friendly and supportive environment in which to perform innovative research.  BCMP faculty have diverse backgrounds and interests in molecules and mechanisms, and their roles in health and disease.  Our molecular mechanistic research is organized around the application of molecular, structural, and chemical approaches to the understanding of form and function in biology. The Department strongly encourages team science and interdisciplinary work, and also has strong ties across Harvard-affiliated teaching hospitals and the Boston biomedical community.  Laboratory space for the successful candidate will be located in a central research building on the Harvard Medical School campus.

In addition to a focus on research innovation, BCMP has a strong commitment to the teaching and mentoring of trainees.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach and mentor exceptional graduate students from a diverse range of programs, including the umbrella Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) PhD Program and more topic specific programs such as the Chemical Biology and Biophysics graduate programs.

Candidates must have a PhD, MD, or an equivalent graduate degree. We are committed to building a diverse faculty and strongly encourage applications from women and from those of underrepresented groups.
