The Department of Mass Communication, Advertising and Public Relations at Boston University seeks to hire a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor whose research advances communication theory with a specialization in media science and/or studies. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in communication or a related field, as well as an active program of communication or media focused research. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the potential to develop a national or international reputation as a scholar and bring both intellectual and experiential diversity to our existing faculty. Candidates should have the capacity to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in BU’s media science program including classes in understanding media, research methods, media effects, communication theory, media theory, persuasion theory, and professional presentations. Duties include teaching two classes each semester, advising students, and serving on various committees while producing significant, high-quality scholarship.
