The Position

Unity College seeks enthusiastic individuals to teach Hemp Industry & Science courses for our online undergraduate degree programs. Courses are online and run for five weeks in eight different terms.

• We are particularly interested in hiring adjunct faculty to develop and teach courses that cover the range of disciplines involved in the growing sustainable business movement. Examples of courses to be instructed would be Science of Hemp and CBD Processing, Hemp Products, Production Systems and Distribution as well as Law, Society, and the Hemp and CBD Industry.
• Courses are taught asynchronously with an average of 20 students per course.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a terminal degree (e.g. PhD, DVM) in the discipline or a masters degree with ample experience in the profession.

• Prior experience within the hemp industry (husbandry, cultivation, value-added production across hemp derivatives) and/or background in emerging hemp and hemp production law.
• Experience with online teaching and/or distance learners is strongly desirable.
• In-person instruction previous use of Canvas is desirable.
• Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.
• Personal commitment to the environmental focus and mission of the college.

The Location

Unity Colleges distance education curriculum is 100% online. Our Distance Education Adjuncts will teach remotely.
