The Manager of Social and Digital Media Relations will be responsible for supporting marketing and communications engagement that promotes Columbus State’s positive impact on Central Ohio through our distinctive offer of smart, affordable, career-relevant pathways to high-quality higher education for all students at every stage of life and career. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Communications, this individual will focus primarily on enterprise-wide College social media channel content creation and management, integration of social media within the College’s digital marketing strategy, and digital content search engine marketing and search engine optimization.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced content creator and marketer nimble across established and emerging social and digital platforms; have proven success working on a creative team collaborating with other designers, writers, and content creators; be comfortable managing multiple projects and timelines to deliver them within scope and budget; give and receive feedback constructively; and, of course, be passionate about creative work! Accountability, collaboration, and the ability to maintain strong relationships with College colleagues are essential.
Who You Are:
You’re a strong content creator and manager who naturally works across integrated social and digital channels in alignment with the overall organizational marketing communications strategy, always staying on top of what’s next and what’s most worthwhile for our investment within this fast-moving, tumultuous space. You’re adept at integrating organic and paid content and utilizing the latest SEM/SEO tactics to maximize engagement and action.
You are adept in multimedia disciplines with talent in on-brand, short-form, and digitally optimized writing; and an eye for compelling images and videos that appeal to our audiences. You excel in robust, timely, and relevant content calendar management in both scheduled and of-the-moment posts. You are experienced with collaboration within a dynamic in-house creative team and with internal and external partners.
You’re as comfortable generating ideas as you are executing them from concept to completion collaboratively with your creative teammates. And you’re always looking for ways to innovate and improve.
You’re a relationship manager who serves as an extension of the Marketing and Communications division to engage College partners and external service providers, understand their needs, connect them to marketing goals, and implement solutions that serve both ends.
You bring a high attention to detail, with strong independence and confidence to consistently make judgment calls to fuel the social and digital content that performs best while pruning less effective strategies.
You’re kind, inclusive, authentic, professional, compassionate, savvy, reliable, and passionate about the mission of open-access higher education that empowers individuals, advances careers, keeps employers competitive, and strengthens our region.
