Department Summary
The University of Oregon Intercollegiate Athletic Department's primary purpose is to provide a unique opportunity for student-athletes to be developed, tested, and encouraged to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives. The department has approximately 250 administrative & classified employees and hosts over 600,000 spectators annually and represents the University of Oregon in athletic competitions with other universities & colleges.
Position Summary
The Sports Dietician provides individual assessment and nutrition coaching, team education, planning and execution of fueling strategies, documentation and reporting of student-athlete progress, and budgetary management for impact and efficiency. This position will also play an important role in educating, organizing, and guiding the progression of student sports nutrition interns. This role requires a high level of organization and communication to facilitate collaboration with team operations, strength and conditioning, athletic training, sports science, and culinary staff in the execution of nutrition services.

This role is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University of Oregon, Pac-12 Conference, and the NCAA.
Minimum Requirements
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) and ability to obtain state licensure within 3 months of the date of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in dietetics/nutrition or related field.
  • One year of experience with demonstrated results providing performance nutrition support to collegiate, professional, or elite level athletes.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders through impactful written and verbal communication.
  • Adept with technology and data management.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain UO Drivers Certification.
    Preferred Qualifications
  • Credential of Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD).
  • Master's degree in dietetics/nutrition or related field.
