Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of enterprise
and workgroup servers in support of the various needs of the
college. Servers can be physical, virtual or cloud based.
Perform server administration on any and all enterprise/workgroup servers supported by UNS. Perform installation and troubleshooting of new and previously installed enterprise/workgroup server hardware and software. Enterprise servers consist of but are not limited to e-mail, domain controllers, web servers, virtual servers, database servers, file servers, print servers, servers in support of the PBX environment, servers in support of the network environment, or any other server function that may be necessary. Workgroup servers are those in support of workgroup functions.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Perform server administration on any and all enterprise/workgroup servers supported by UNS. Workgroup servers are those in support of workgroup functions.
- Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology or related program and 6 years' experience in the technical computer field required or equivalent combination of training, education and at least 10 years work experience.
- 5 years' experience in Windows server administration.
- Detailed knowledge of networking protocols, Windows server operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory principles, and Microsoft Exchange email, Microsoft SQL database administration and SharePoint Administration.
- Detailed knowledge of server clustering.
- Detailed knowledge of server administration using VMWARE.
- Detailed experience with SAN/data storage administration
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Regular attendance is a requirement of this job. Telework eligible in accordance with HCC Telework policy.
- Strong writing and speaking skills in communication of problems and solutions of computer and network systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills in problem solving situations.
- Performs all duties while considering the impact of any actions on the college's sustainability initiatives in the areas of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic prosperity.
