Position Overview

Collaborates with community stakeholders to design, develop, and implement new programs and adapt existing programs/courses/support services to increase the number of participants completing their secondary credential, post-secondary application, and FAFSA documents. Identify areas of needed change that would increase participant engagement in a continuous improvement environment. Serve as a clearinghouse for information on developing a customer service culture in higher education. Performs need-assessment, planning, data collection and analysis in order to make continual improvement to on-going program activities. Design and implement evaluation and follow-up studies to determine the effectiveness, performance, and future needs of programs.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions

Report participant progress to Program Manager and Project Director. Thoroughly document participant status changes and update BLUMEN system. Create curriculum for participant training components. Provide services to participants which will include information dissemination, assisting with completion of applications for admissions, financial aid and enrollment. Participate in staff development and training opportunities. Develop relationships with community stakeholders by attending applicable events both during and outside business hours.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Experience Required

60 + credits completed in education, counseling, or related field or 3+ years of equivalent work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Familiarity with services provided to high-need populations, and background similar to target population.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or related field. Fluent in Spanish (read, speak, write) OR have military veteran experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Strong written, oral, organizational, communication skills and problem-solving skills. Must be detail oriented. Experience working in post-secondary education settings. Demonstrated ability to work well with diverse adult student populations. Ability to work well with peers, supervisor, faculty, staff, student and adult populations. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
