SALARY:

Based on extensive benchmarking data, the Writer and Communications Project Manager is mapped to Pay Grade CA&P 16 at OHIO, with a target hiring range of $44,592-$51,838. The exact base salary for the selected candidate will be negotiable, commensurate with education and experience, and competitive in the field within the context of similarly situated positions at public universities nationally.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be part of a storytelling team that captures the interest of prospective college students and starts a conversation in print and online that continues to engage them throughout their college search. This writer-editor generates ideas and content that support the Forever OHIO brand, removes the barriers of jargon and lack of knowledge for students and their influencers, and motivates students to choose Ohio University. This position will coordinate and execute annual, ongoing, and individual print and digital marketing efforts on behalf of Enrollment Management and in coordination with graphic designers, writers, and video producers in University Communications and Marketing (UCM). This position may also supervise student employees and freelance contributors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field by start date and at least three years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least three years experience writing copy that moves beyond reporting facts and educating to inspire curiosity and build a relationship with recipients. This compelling and effective marketing copy also adheres to brand, tone, and style guidelines for print and electronic publications, including video. Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong organizational skills and demonstrated initiative. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituents. Ability to adhere to the ethical standards of the profession. Ability to act independently and autonomously as an agent of and positive reflection of Ohio University Enrollment Management.
