Job Description:

The Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment serves as the Provost’s chief advisor and representative in matters related to institutional research, effectiveness and assessment. The Associate Provost has responsibility for providing oversight, innovative, collaborative and strategic leadership for the planning, development, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of university initiatives, programs and structures that support the faculty and academic programs along with the direct management of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership and expertise to facilitate curricular and co-curricular assessment efforts, ensure compliance with effectiveness standards and deepen the culture of assessment that supports KCU’s mission and strategic plan
  • Oversees the measurement of performance and student learning outcomes to ensure institutional effectiveness
  • Responsibility for generating information and reports for professional and institutional accreditations.
  • Partners with multiple constituencies within the University and beyond to commit, promote, and foster an environment of inclusion that facilitates access of underrepresented students, faculty and staff
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs institutional research projects, activities and operations
  • PhD, EdD, DO or other appropriate terminal degree
  • 15 years of academic administrative experience, with 10 years specific to Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment
  • Experience as a faculty member preferred
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff and administrators from varied disciplines and backgrounds including collegial consensus-building
  • Experience in the development and implementation of innovative organizational and academic growth initiatives
  • Proven experience managing and leading academic assessment activities
  • Deep understanding of policies and processes associated with institutional and professional accreditation
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly developed technological and analytical acumen
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
