The Department of Business Management at Springfield College invites applicants for a nine-month, tenure-track position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting, to begin in the Fall of 2023. The department offers undergraduate degrees in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, and Healthcare Management, and an on-ground and on-line MBA, and collaborates with programs across the College such as Sports Management and Human Services/Organizational Leadership. The Department is poised for new growth and strategic development, including the active pursuit of AACSB accreditation. For this reason, we seek a dynamic, energetic, and innovative teacher and scholar who will provide excellence in teaching and advising (in-person and online), and maintain a high level of professional activity through quality research and service. Applicants should be willing to contribute as leaders within Springfield College’s mission of educating students in spirit, mind, and body for leadership in service to humanity.

 

Responsibilities include teaching in areas such as financial, managerial and cost accounting as well as related courses such as accounting information systems and taxes. The successful candidate will actively engage in scholarship, including applied or theoretical research, or pedagogical studies in Accounting or related fields that meet or exceed the requirements for AACSB's faculty qualification status (i.e., Scholarly Academic). Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the business field and in higher education, and be adept in racially just and culturally responsive pedagogies and inclusive classroom and curriculum design.

Required: Ph.D. in Accounting or closely related field of study from an AACSB accredited institution.  Prior experience teaching at the college level is required.
