Job Description: Marketing Traffic Manager of Marketing Communications
Diverse and talented marketing communications professionals are encouraged to apply for a Marketing Traffic Manager position on the Marketing and Communications team at Columbus State Community College. The Marketing Traffic Manager will be responsible for seeing that marketing and communication projects flow smoothly through established creative workflows from concept development, writing, and design to production and the transfer of collateral to its final destination. The individual’s work will support initiatives impacting Information Technology and Health Science programs and pathways, particularly with the opportunity to expand.

Working as an integrated member of the Marketing and Communications team, this individual will be the chief go-between who communicates and coordinates among marketing communication managers, web and digital professionals, designers, and production partners, internal and external, to nudge and reduce bottlenecks, improve efficiency, and ensure timely delivery of assets. They are responsible for keeping everyone on task and projects on deadline, handling the logistics, and keeping all parties updated on the progress.

Who you are:

You have experience working in a creative agency and a firm grasp of the creative process, team roles, and the creation and delivery of marketing collateral. You’re a collaborator, organizer, and taskmaster who understands creative teams and workflows and can break them down into individual tasks, assignments, and deadlines. You’re a multitasker who’s comfortable managing multiple projects and aggressive timelines to support their delivery within scope, budget, and brand.

You are comfortable working with project management software and tracking marketing communications plans with lots of moving parts. You think and work naturally across multiple marketing channels, understanding different media require different file types, sizes, and specifications.

You know people, and you’re able to navigate different personalities to maintain strong relationships with your colleagues and external partners to keep things moving smoothly. You’re a creative problem solver who spots timing issues and bottlenecks ahead of time and collaborates with production partners, internal and external, to make sure jobs are produced and delivered as planned.

Under the guidance of the Marketing Director,

Task and Workflow Coordination – 40%

Coordinate with marketing communications managers, senior designer, and team leads to assess incoming projects and identify and assign tasks and corresponding deadlines within the team’s project management system. Communicate with task leads to ensure progress, identify problems, and propose solutions to ensure smooth and timeline completion of workflow steps.

Check the statuses of outstanding tasks. Conduct morning meetings with team leads to go over items/tasks assigned and due for the day and determine if there are any roadblocks. Communicate any issues with the director or her designee. Conduct regular traffic meetings to gather and share information with the rest of the team, ensure workflow is efficient, and that the right people are doing the right tasks.

Marketing Project Management System Coordination – 30%
Use Team Dynamix or an alternative marketing project management platform to create and process tickets, timelines, and tasks. Using TD or other project management software, track the status of project estimates, timelines, and tasks; ensure the work is being completed on schedule and budget, and communicate with creative team members assigned to each job. Close out completed jobs and ensure final files are maintained, labeled, and archived on a permanent server.

Marketing Production Management – 10%
Work with internal and external production partners, including printers, mail houses, media buyers, ad agencies, and freelancers, to ensure they have the resources needed for their jobs. Oversee the smooth transfer of files, answer production questions, maintain timelines, facilitate press and proof checks, and oversee the delivery of projects and assets to their final destinations. Manage production schedules to deliver them on-brand, within the scope, and within budget throughout the project lifecycle. Work outside of regular office hours as necessary to meet workload demands.

Brand Management – 10%
Coordinate with key partners, the Marketing and Communications team, outside vendors, and freelancers to ensure high-quality, compelling content that’s on-brand, connects with diverse and targeted audiences, and is integrated across media channels. Ensure the College name and image are projected according to brand standards and in a positive manner.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion – 10%
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with diverse groups and communities. Help to ensure the College meets its responsibilities in identifying problem areas and systemic concerns while reporting complaints alleging discrimination. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, advertising, public relations, or a related field. Candidates with an associate degree and relevant experience in an agency or corporate setting, especially in traffic management or project management, are also encouraged to apply. Strong organization skills, detail orientation, and the ability to motivate people and teams under tight deadlines while remaining calm and kind under pressure. Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and team-player skills are a must. Proficiency in traffic/project management software. Exposure to the Adobe Creative Suite. Strong attention to detail and deadline orientation.
