We are seeking a Housing Facility Manager is a part of the Johns Hopkins Facilities & Real Estate (JHFRE) and is responsible for the oversight and daily direction of the JHFRE Housing (maintenance and custodial) staff supporting Johns Hopkins University’s Community Life. This position reports to the Associate Director for Building Operations and Maintenance but is in direct support of the Housing Office Support Staff. The Housing Facility Manager is expected to actively communicate and collaborate with the JHFRE leadership and the Office of Community Living (Housing) - Executive Director and Director for Housing Operations. This position will oversee the maintenance and cleaning of JHU’s Homewood residence halls and other residential facilities.

Ability to develop routine preventive maintenance and replacement cycle tracking for appliances, equipment and systems.

  • Ability to prepare estimates and order materials for maintenance and repair jobs.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in determining operating conditions.
  • Ability to plan, lay out, supervise and inspect the work of subordinates.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
  • Knowledge of energy management systems.
  • Ability to read blue prints and thrive in a facilities operation and management environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
