Title: Upper Cumberland Coordinator of Student Recruitment

Location: Cookeville Center/Livingston Center

Position Summary: This position is specifically related to the Upper Cumberland area of the college's service region and will be responsible to coordinate, implement, and evaluate programs and activities specifically related to relationship building with, and recruiting of, prospective students for admission to the College; design and coordinate the implementation of a communication strategy targeting both prospects and other appropriate constituents; identify target markets and assist in the development of the College's Recruitment Plan; and assist students through the application/admission process. Extensive travel within Upper Cumberland portion of the VSCC service area is required and some travel may be required in other portions of the VSCC service region, as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, coordinate and implement the recruitment program specifically related to the Upper Cumberland portion of the college's service area, including development and refinement of initiatives, to enhance the quality and diversity of the student body and to increase enrollment of both freshmen and transfer students.

Manage the training of faculty and staff in the Upper Cumberland who are or wish to become involved in the recruiting of prospective students.

Plan and implement special recruiting activities, including but not limited to, events and communication targeted at prospective applicants.

Coordinate and implement the College's recruitment-related social media, and prospect communication efforts targeted in the Upper Cumberland area of the service region.

Assist in the implementation and maintenance of recruitment-related technological resources, including but not limited to, the prospect portions of Ellucian Banner and Slate.

Assist with the development of the Office of Admissions Continuous Improvement Plan.

Plan and implement special activities and events to promote the College in the Upper Cumberland region.

Recruit prospective students by making high school visits, attending day/night college fairs, career days, and community events where a college recruitment presence in the Upper Cumberland is appropriate.

Assist prospective students, both in person, and at a distance, in the decision-making, application, and enrollment process.

Respond to inquiries from prospective students using, but not limited to, telephone, email, and social media/online chat.

Work in conjunction with other areas of the College on recruitment efforts, specifically but not exclusively, on student recruitment of diverse, adult, Veteran and non-traditional subpopulations.

Assist with the development and interpretation of internal reports related to student recruitment.

Represent, in a positive manner, Volunteer State Community College, the Division of Student Services, and the Office of Admissions with all internal and external constituents in the Upper Cumberland region.

Position reports to the Assistant Director of Admissions but will be expected to assist regional campus executive leadership with area recruiting events as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Three years of experience in student recruitment or other Collegiate role with direct student contact focusing on student intake, progression, communication, and/or success or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Five or more years of experience in higher education with direct student contact, especially at a community college.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics: Experience with Ellucian Banner. Responsibility for planning, implementing, and/or maintaining a communication plan. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office or similar product. Experience using social media as part of the candidate's job responsibilities.

Pay Rate: 40,200.00 - 50,250.00 annual salary depending on experience
