Job Details
The Department of Psychology at Skidmore College invites
applications at any rank for a tenure-track faculty position
beginning Fall 2023. Area of specialization for this position is
open. Currently we have departmental needs in the fields of
perception, cognition, and/or computational methods; however, we
are actively soliciting candidates from all subfields within
psychology. We encourage applications from individuals with
identities historically underrepresented in the sciences. Ability
to teach, advise, and mentor a diverse population of undergraduates
is essential. The hired candidate will be expected to teach core
courses (i.e., Statistics and Research Methods I and II,
Introduction to Psychological Science), courses at the 200- and
300-level in their area of expertise, and a course that contributes
to the College's interdisciplinary first-year seminar program. The
hired candidate will be expected to develop a vibrant research
program with undergraduate collaborators. Finally, the hired
candidate will demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and
inclusion. Additional responsibilities include advising students
and service activities at the College. The position involves an
in-person teaching load of 18-credits per year which typically
equates to 5 courses per academic year.
