Required Qualifications:
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Experience with managing resources and program coordination or at least two years of professional experience working in higher education
- Knowledge of best practices related to test administration and security
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Experience handling secure documents and confidential information
- Experience with Testing Center technology
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Knowledge of and/or experience with assistive technology
Job Description:
The supervisor oversees all day-to-day operations within Testing Lab Services, a unit of the Testing, Evaluation, and Measurement Center (TEMC). The Testing Lab Supervisor is responsible for the following activities: coordinating and administering computer-based and other tests in the Testing Lab; hiring, supervising, and scheduling Graduate Assistants; serving as a liaison for test sponsors; monitoring testing compliance and reporting requirements; and maintaining/updating technology related to Testing Lab operations. Under the direction of the TEMC director, the Testing Lab Supervisor is also responsible for recommending and implementing goals for the Testing Lab.
Job Duties:
- Coordinate the administration of paper-based and computer-based exams. This includes scheduling and proctoring exams and monitoring Testing Lab inboxes. Ensure testing accommodations for examinees as needed.
- Coordinate weekend/evening testing dates. This includes scheduling staff to cover and occasionally covering Saturday/evening testing.
- Communicate laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and best practices related to test administration and test security to staff, students, parents, and faculty.
- Coordinate scheduling and serve as project lead for testing events, such as the seasonal New Student Orientation testing, as assigned.
- Supervise and train professional staff (if applicable), graduate assistants, and student workers.
- Serve as first contact and liaison for test sponsors, Texas State University departments, and faculty as needed.
- Create, develop, and review Testing Lab Services policies and procedures, recommend Testing Lab Services goals and technology updates, prepare reports and surveys, and maintain various logs.
- Monitor and adhere to testing compliance and reporting requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
