Under the supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs or designee, the incumbent is responsible for providing leadership in developing programs and services that promote the academic, personal, and professional achievement of lesbian, gay,

bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex. and asexual or allied community members (LBGTQIA+). Specific activities include (a) needs assessment, (b) collaboration with various university departments as well as external corporate and community leaders to plan and implement collaborative programs and events, (c) promotion and marketing of activities, and (d) program evaluation.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage the operations and activities of the PRIDE Center including supervision of staff graduate interns and student leaders.

2. Oversee and account for the Center's expenditures and assist with budget preparation.

3. Develop and coordinate programs and support services for LBGTQIA+ students as well as programs for the general campus community on issues of particular concern to LBGTQTA+ populations.

4. Design programming and activities that promote: cultural awareness, gender equity, inclusion, social justice, sexuality and gender identity, multiculturalism concepts and issues as these apply to higher education setting.

5. Act as a resource for information and support related to LBGTQIA+ throughout the university community.

6. Conduct evaluation and assessment of all Pride Center programming and services.

7. Advocate for a university environment that eliminates barriers, diminishes prejudice and bigotry and extends a supportive climate to all students.

8. Coordinate and collaborate with faculty, administrators, and other staff in providing services to students.

9. Perform appropriate instructional and instructional support activities in furtherance of the goals of the institution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree is required in higher education, social justice, gender studies, student development, or a related field required. Experience with and a commitment to social justice issues, including but not limited to, providing services for college students who are LGBTQIA+, and or first-generation, international, along with a minimum four years administrative and program development experience in higher education. Must exhibit sensitivity toward traditionally underrepresented groups (such as BIPOC, and LBGTQIA+ students). In addition to having strong oral and written skills, successful candidates must have a personal demeanor that inspires excellence and collaboration.

These qualifications may be waived for individuals with appropriate alternate experience.
