What you will do (position summary):
You will be part of a team of valued employees that are responsible for cleaning and maintenance of the Student Rec Center and satellite facilities which include, Gerlinger Hall, Gerlinger Annex, Student Tennis Center, and Outdoor Recreation (fields, courts, running track, and open spaces).

You'll perform a wide range of custodial tasks such as cleaning office and lounge spaces, hallways, bathrooms and locker rooms, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning carpets and furniture, using an auto scrubber on floors, emptying trash, restocking dispensers and maintaining clean and stocked custodial closets and performing in-depth annual cleaning during a period of facility shutdown which will include floor sealing/waxing, stripping and buffing. The ability to follow written and oral communication regarding schedules, cleaning duties and cleaning products is required.

Shift time for this position will be Wednesday-Sunday 6:00am to 2:30pm.

This position is located in a recreation setting where temperatures, lighting, noise, and air quality will vary, and some outside work is required. This position works with germicidal, sanitizing, and other cleaning products. This position typically requires ability to lift 50 pounds, walk, lift, stoop or perform repetitious movement.

    What you need to qualify (minimum requirements):
    One year of cleaning experience in a commercial, residential, or industrial setting.

    It is preferred, but not required, to have...(preferred qualifications):
  • Experience with commercial cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Experience with floor care.
  • Experience prioritizing work duties and working independently with little to no supervision.
  • Experience using email as a communication tool.
  • Ability and willingness to work special events that may be scheduled overtime on weekdays and weekends.
