The Department of Political Science at the University of Dayton seeks a tenure-track assistant professor with a specialization in criminal justice or security studies.  Responsibilities include teaching for the NASPAA accredited Master Public Administration program, Political Science majors, Criminal Justice and Security Studies majors, and the interdisciplinary social science curriculum.  The Department of Political Science is composed of active and engaged teacher-scholars that support student learning through curricular and co-curricular learning.  For more information about the Department of Political Science please go to: https://udayton.edu/artssciences/academics/politicalscience/  or the Department of Criminal Justice and Security Studies: https://udayton.edu/artssciences/academics/criminaljustice/index.php.

 Minimum qualifications:

    ABD nearing completion in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, or Criminal Justice or closely related field.
    Ability to conduct peer-reviewed scholarship. Research agenda that focuses on public policy or administration issues in criminal justice or security studies. Qualifications to teach as a core member of the MPA faculty. 
    Effective written communication skills. Potential for teaching excellence, including but not limited to the use of active learning techniques and innovative pedagogies.
