Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Operations, Assessment, and Communications in Steely Library, the Assessment Coordinator will support and advance assessment efforts across the organization. Primary Responsibilities
- Assists library leadership in promoting the integration of assessment and evidence-based decision making related to services, collections, technology, and physical spaces in Steely Library.
- Analyzes and reports quantitative and qualitative data gathered from various sources including library systems, vendor statistics, observations, surveys, web analytics, interviews, and/or focus groups and facilitates the use of this data to support library initiatives. Prepares visualizations and identifies key data for communicating the impact of the library. Makes recommendations based on library assessment activities to enhance the library’s impact on student success.
- Manages data collection for annual and campus-level reporting, including gathering, reviewing, and synthesizing data submitted by library departments, to assist with national reporting obligations, such as Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System ( IPEDS ), Association of College and Research Libraries ( ACRL ), and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges ( SACSCOC ).
- Investigates and communicates new methods for data collection, analysis, and documentation, and contributes to ongoing efforts to improve library-wide assessment.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum of one-year experience
- Practical experience and/or coursework in one or more of the following areas: data science, design thinking, user research/user experience design, advanced research methods (including quantitative and qualitative analysis).
- Knowledge of tools and methods for data collection, analysis, and visualization
