Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Director, Institutional Research and Planning. This is a full-time, calendar year, continuing position.
The individual will provide vision and leadership for the college’s institutional research efforts, particularly those associated with student success and institutional effectiveness. In this role, the director serves as the prime source of institutional data for the President’s Executive Cabinet and Rhode Island Council of Postsecondary Education in monitoring the college’s overall health and progress. In collaboration with the senior staff, the director frames research projects, gathers data, analyzes complex data sets, and collaborates with stakeholders to reach data-informed decisions and create action plans for improvement. The director supports the strategic planning process and the assessment of student learning and measures constituent satisfaction with college programs and services.
Rhode Island College is a regional comprehensive public college that serves approximately 6,400 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students through its five schools: The Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Feinstein School of Education and Human Development, the School of Business, the School of Nursing and the School of Social Work. Established in 1854, we are Rhode Island’s first public institution of higher education.
The college is located on a beautiful 180-acre suburban campus in the vibrant city of Providence and has satellite locations at the Rhode Island Nursing Education Center in Providence’s Innovation District and the Rhode Island College Workforce Development Hub in Central Falls, RI. Required qualifications:
- Master’s degree Five years’ experience in the field of institutional research and/or comparable experience. Experience developing and managing data governance structures, policies, and processes. Experience with developing, maintaining, and using data warehouses. Experience with institutional effectiveness and student outcome models, research design, statistical techniques and manipulating large data sets.
Preferred qualifications:
- Earned Doctorate degree Bilingual
