Woodbury University invites applications for Director of Admissions. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Admissions, the Director of Admissions provides senior level leadership to the recruitment, admission and enrollment initiatives across all student populations for Woodbury University, a federally-designated Hispanic Serving Institution, and a small, private, not for profit university.  The Director is responsible for recruitment, follow-up, conversion and overall enrollment of all undergraduates (first year, transfer, both domestic and international) as well as graduate students. The Director is in charge of developing and managing all aspects of the admissions process from inquiry and lead generation to enrollment. The Director will improve the current admissions process with an emphasis on automation, efficiency, and customer service in collaboration with the the Deans of Woodbury’s four schools, the Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid, Information Technology, and the Marketing Department.  The Director is responsible for travel and recruitment planning, community outreach, and managing the Admission team in a hybrid work environment. The Director serves on various University committees and is dedicated to the development and advancement of the Admission Office.    

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement short and long range recruitment plans including marketing strategies in collaboration with the AVP of Admissions and Marketing Department.
  • Develop undergraduate and graduate enrollment goals and projections with the AVP of Admissions and Deans of Woodbury’s four schools. 
  • Manage, hire, train, and evaluate the Admission counseling staff. Hold routine staff meetings.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology on identifying admissions processes that can be automated and develop project plans to leverage the appropriate technology. 
  • Manage the ongoing maintenance/improvement of the Admission CRM, SIS and database systems. Manage the various online application systems, online file management process, online data capture forms, Slideroom portfolio platform, online transcript and test score platforms, and text messaging platform. 
  • Development, implementation, and continued review of undergraduate and graduate admissions policies and procedures to ensure efficient processing of inquiries, applications, decision notifications, and the yield process. 
  • Oversee and participate in the evaluation of admission applications. 
  • Oversee and manage the purchase of search names and lead generation process. 
  • Present and promote the University at variety of recruitment, promotional, and community events. 
  • Participate and plan admissions recruitment and yield events. 
  • Implements working knowledge of current trends and best practices in admissions, including first year undergraduate, transfer, graduate admissions, and international students. 
  • Work collaboratively with various departments across campus, including: Academic Affairs, Financial Aid, Registrar, Business Office, Marketing, Office of Student Development, and Advancement.
  • Recommends admission policy changes to the AVP of Admissions. 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum five years of progressive, related experience.
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
  • Experience managing a CRM platform and technical literacy.
  • Success in organizing and creating efficient office procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work, supervise, and lead a team-oriented environment providing excellent customer service both internally and externally.
  • Must be able to work independently, as part of team, and with all organizational levels within the institution.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of broader issues and trends affecting admissions in higher education.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Woodbury University’s goals and mission.
