Clinical Coordinator, Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Part-Time)

Job Summary:
Provide direct clinical education and technical supervision of college-sponsored Diagnostic Sonography program, acting as liaison between the clinical affiliates and the collegiate program and such other duties as assigned. Ensure compliance with JRCDMS guidelines and standards.

Essential Functions:
1. Evaluate and ensure the effectiveness of the clinical affiliate/clinical education centers.
2. Assigns student clinical and intra-clinical rotations.
3. Documents student’s clinical attendance.
4. Documents student’s clinical performance outcomes, conducting interval and final conferences individually with students during each clinical rotation.
5. Provides student guidance as it applies to clinical practicum.
6. Provides indirect technical supervision to student sonographers.
7. Orients clinical preceptors to program philosophy and mission and their responsibility for student supervision and maintains continuous communication of students’ performance.
8. Facilitates students’ evaluation of clinical faculty & clinical facilities.
9. Coordinates satisfactory accomplishment of the collegiate objectives and compliance with departmental/hospital policies and procedures.
10. Performs other duties as assigned (e.g., accreditation process).
11. Coordinate clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the program director.

Accountabilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, each part-time faculty member is responsible for satisfying the educational, administrative and fiscal responsibilities inherent in his/her position.

Job Specifications:
Associate’s degree in a health related field required. Must be registered by American Registry of Diagnostic Sonography (ARDMS) in general and obstetrical/gynecology specialties. Two years continuous full-time experience as diagnostic sonographer required. Must possess working knowledge of subject matter and maintain appropriate expertise and competencies through continuing professional development and pursuit of scholarly activities.

Monday - Thursday summer work schedule applies.
