Accounts Payable Analyst/Inventory Clerk

Position Type: Staff

Salary Basis: 12 month

Responsibilities:
Process requisitions to purchase order status. Verify quotes according to the State Procurement Laws. Place orders with vendors, when needed. Maintain purchase order files. Encumber travel. Maintain travel files. Pay direct pay invoices. Assist with bi-weekly check run. Assist with filing and processing incoming mail. Oversee the rental vehicle account, Fuel Man, online auction, and travel card program. Assist annually with 1099 process, year-end process, and audits. Assign and label DSU inventory numbers to new items. Prepare monthly inventory report. Enter work orders for inventory disposals. Conduct internal inventory audits on 25% of the campus annually. Conduct departmental inventory self-audits annually. Maintain inventory records. Take on other duties as assigned in a collaborate environment.



Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with Banner software, Microsoft Office products, property management, and accounts payable duties preferred.
  • Familiarity with university setting and professional experience in a comparable environment preferred.
  • Must be a Certified Mississippi Purchasing Agent (CMPA) or be willing to become a CMPA within one year of hire date.

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple work requests simultaneously.
  • Requires a reliable, hardworking, proactive, detail-oriented person with effective written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient in bookkeeping, computer, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and desire to learn new skills.
  • Capable of working independently and within a team.


Salary:
12 monthCommensurate with experience and qualifications
