The University of Southern Indiana seeks applications for a 12-month, full-time Education Coordinator located within the Institutional Equity Office. This position will analyze the University’s learning and training needs and develop training curricula, materials, and programs to meet the University needs and obligations in the areas of compliance, equal access, equal opportunity, and affirmative action.

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain awareness of trends and partner with subject experts on program content and delivery
  • Facilitate a variety of sessions (individual or groups) for University students, faculty and staff
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to campus partners to support programs or trainings
  • Program scheduling, promotion of programs, communication with University and community partners, and the updating and ordering of program materials in areas of compliance, equal access, equal opportunity, and affirmative action
  • Serve as the Chair for the Student Steering Committee on Equity
  • Recruit, train, and oversee students serving as peer facilitators

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Supervision, Organizational Development, Education, Instructional Design, Ethics, Compliance, Equal Access/Equal Opportunity, Human Resources, Business or a related field required.
  • Two years’ experience in training, presenting, developing training materials required.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and coordinate online learning modules required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and public relations skills along with professionalism as a collegial team member required.
  • Working knowledge of online instruction development programs and website design preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time management and project management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail required.
  • Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multi-task, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions and meet deadlines required.
  • Ability to take initiatives, assume responsibility and handle confidential information with discretion required.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and implement University policies and procedures required.
  • Ability to facilitate sessions with focus groups; implement/manage large-scale online training programs required.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint required.

Working Relationships:

  • Reports to the Affirmative Action Officer and Title IX Coordinator.
  • Receives direction from Chief Government and Legal Affairs Officer.
  • Works with a diverse group of internal and external individuals.
