COMPENSATION: $100,000 - $140,000 DOE

WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time. M-F 8:30-5:00 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee department of General Accounting which provides operational accounting support to the University.  Manage preparation of annual financial report for the University including the blending of component units. Manage preparation of University of Utah Research Foundation financial statements. Manage the preparation of various cultural entities financial statements and other external financial statements, as applicable. Prepare University response to new and proposed accounting standards; assess and oversee execution of approved approaches. Work with internal and external auditors. Maintain positive peer relationships within and external to the University.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency required; plus six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required. Master’s degree in Business Administration or related area preferred. This position is not responsible for providing patient care. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

PREFERENCES: CPA license strongly preferred.
