Position Summary:

Join a research team applying proteomic mass spectrometry in addressing mechanisms of neurodegenerative disease and biomarker research. Candidates should have a solid background in bioinformatics of omic datasets (e.g., proteomics, genomics, metabolomics, etc.). The position is intellectually stimulating, applying discovery science to areas of neurotoxicology, neurotrauma, and other areas of biomedical research. Candidate will be responsible for equipment operation, maintenance, method optimization, data processing, informatic interrogation and preparing of draft scientific manuscripts. Training in relevant research and management skills will be provided.

Require Hiring Standards:

A graduate degree in a relevant area (e.g., biochemistry, chemistry, neuroscience, etc.) is required along with biomedical research experience with omic approaches and bioinformatics tools. Relevant skills can include expertise in statistical (e.g., R) and bioinformatic (e.g., cytoskape, metaboanalyst, etc) packages in handling omic datasets. Candidates should be experienced in basic study design, biological sample processing, outcome assessment and statistical interrogation. A record of scientific publication and presentation is required. Applicants must be able to work with biospecimens and biofluids from human and animal sources.

Preferred Hiring Standards:

A background in neuroscience research is advantageous. Past experience processing biofluids, brain tissues, and with performing immunochemical assays (blotting, microscopy, ELISA) is also beneficial.
